An elder law attorney can provide you with assistance making plans in case you must someday move to a nursing home. An attorney can also provide help to individuals whose family members may need to move to a nursing home because of a medical issue that prevents them from living alone. Frank & Kraft will work with you to find a high-quality care facility for yourself or your loved one and will help you to take steps to make certain that you are able to pay for nursing home care.

It’s important that you research nursing homes carefully and find the right facility that meets your needs or the needs of your loved ones. This is especially essential in Indiana where there is a nursing home shortage. The shortage is such a problem that The Indy Channel recently reported on an accelerated nursing program that aims to help address the staffing gaps at the state’s nursing homes.

Accelerated Degree Program Aims to Combat Nursing Home Shortage in Indiana

According to The Indy Channel, the state of Indiana is one of many that has a nursing shortages. Marian University is aiming to try to address this problem and help care facilities fill in staffing gaps. The school is doing this by providing help to returning students who want to change careers and become a nurse. To facilitate this process, the school has created an accelerated degree program so people can complete their coursework and get back into the workforce more quickly.

The accelerated degree program is considered to be a hybrid program because coursework can be completed both online and in person. There are online classes to learn the basics, and students meet in person to learn hands-on schools. Students can also do clinical rotations within the St. Vincent hospital network.

The accelerated program allows qualified individuals to become nurses in as little as 16-months. This will help to ensure that more people are able to work in the healthcare industry in different capacities including in hospitals and nursing care facilities.  the good news is, there is a lot of demand for students who wish to take part in the program. Registered nurse is the most in-demand occupation in Indiana, and the number of registered nurses in the state is projected to grow a full 19 percent over the course of the next 10 years. With a median annual salary for registered nurses of $68,000, it should come as no surprise that many people are interested in entering this career field.
